Buick Verano is a compact with big-car hush

Drive On came away impressed on all counts earlier this month with the new Buick Verano, a compact sedan that is able to retain the brand's reputation for comfort and whisper quietness in the cabin.

At the same time, Verano manages to avoid the things buyers never liked about Buicks -- a squishy ride more akin to a hovercraft and ill-fitting interiors. Testing the car over hundreds of miles, Verano handled confidently and didn't leave us guessing whether pavement was passing beneath us.
