Buick Verano is a compact with big-car hush

What if you could have a car that was a compact sedan that carried the sound and luxury of a full-size sedan? That's exactly what Buick has done with the Verano. Designed to deliver optimal MPG, adequate space, a smooth ride, and plenty of horsepower just like a full-sized sedan, packed into a compact.

USAToday writes:

Can a small Buick feel and sound like a big one? And if it did, would you want to buy one?

Drive On came away impressed on all counts earlier this month with the new Buick Verano, a compact sedan that is able to retain the brand's reputation for comfort and whisper quietness in the cabin.

At the same time, Verano manages to avoid the things buyers never liked about Buicks -- a squishy ride more akin to a hovercraft and ill-fitting interiors. Testing the car over hundreds of miles, Verano handled confidently and didn't leave us guessing whether pavement was passing beneath us.

Ford boasts that its hybrid tech leapfrogs Toyota

The road to the new Ford Fusion Hybrid's 47 mpg , expected to be America's most fuel-efficient non-rechargeable sedan, can be traced back to Ford's electrified vehicle team and the nearly 500 patents Ford now holds for its hybrid technology.

USAToday writes:

Want some fightin' words? Ford is throwing down the gauntlet when it comes to boasts about its new Fusion Hybrid, saying it technology research is leapfrogging Toyota.

Proof? Ford says Fusion Hybrid will get better gas mileage than Toyota's well-regarded, new Camry Hybrid, Bloomberg News reports.

Ford says it has accomplished the goal through dogged research into hybrids, including 461 patents. It's not the kind of boast that will likely go over well at Toyota, which takes its greatest pride -- justifiably -- in its hybrids.

As a prize for being named MVP of the game, Chevrolet handed Manning the keys to a Corvette Grand Sport Centennial Edition.

No run of the mill Vette, the special package celebrates the 100th anniversary of Chevy's founding on November 3rd, 2011, and is only being offered on 2012 model year cars.

Chevy New Environmental Impact Labels

At Don Elliott Auto Group we're proud to support Chevrolet with their new environmental impact labels. These labels should appear on all new 2013 models of vehicles produced by Chevy.

Here's what SlashGear has to say:

Chevy’s making a big push in the green segment for cars and the impact those cars have on the environment. The environmental impact includes the technologies and materials used to make the vehicles as well as the emissions that the vehicles produce. To help the average consumer be aware of the green push that Chevy is investing in, it will start placing new stickers touting green on vehicles with the 2013 range.

Chevy is boasting that it is the first automotive manufacturer to place these labels on vehicles in an attempt to allow the buyer to see how green the vehicles are in manufacturing, driving, and recyclability.
